Ambassador Lincoln P. Bloomfield, Jr. has chaired the Stimson Center since 2008. He previously served as U.S. Special Envoy for MANPADS Threat Reduction and Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, leading efforts in security and humanitarian mine action.

Dr. Conrad C. Crane recently retired as Senior Historian at the Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute. A retired Army officer, he spent 26 years in service, including roles as Chief of Analysis at the Army Heritage Center, Director of the Military History Institute, and nine years as a history professor at West Point.

Col. Joel R. Hillison, a retired U.S. Army Colonel with over 30 years of service, is a Professor of National Security Studies at the Army War College. He has 14+ years of graduate teaching experience, specializing in strategic leadership, national security, and military strategy.

Don Holder is an independent consultant on leadership, doctrine, and training. As a Senior Mentor for the Battle Command Training Program, he coached senior Army commanders and advises on future operations and doctrine, lecturing at U.S. and foreign military schools.

Olav Holst is a military historian in Honolulu specializing in the Pearl Harbor attack. A University of Hawaii graduate with a degree in International Business, he served 20 years as a combat engineer and civil affairs officer in the Army Reserve.

J. Mark Jackson served as a Cavalry Platoon Leader in the U.S. Army and completed the Armor Officer’s Advanced Course and Airborne. After transitioning to the private sector, he worked for Goodyear, Cooper Tire, and Tire & Battery Corp. He also spent 15 years as a leadership trainer and consultant for U.S. federal agencies and corporate clients.

Larry Korczyk has been a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg since 2013. With 30+ years in logistics, he has a deep passion for Civil War history, becoming a reenactor and co-authoring Top Ten at Gettysburg. He now lives in Gettysburg, leading tours and speaking at Civil War Round Tables.

Brian McAllister Linn is a History Professor at Texas A&M, specializing in Military History. He received the 2023 Society for Military History’s Samuel Eliot Morrison Prize and has held prestigious fellowships and visiting professorships at institutions like the U.S. Army War College and the University of Birmingham.

Professor Lord teaches at the U.S. Army War College and directs the Joint Warfighting Advanced Studies Program. A retired Navy Surface Warfare Officer with 31 years of service, he commanded the USS Clark and completed nine deployments. He holds degrees from Penn State, the Army War College, and the German General Staff College.

Terese Orr is a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg National Military Park, specializing in the civilian experience during the battle. She has led specialty tours and contributed to *America’s Civil War* magazine. After serving in the U.S. Navy, she retired from Active Duty and Reserve roles before transitioning to her current role as a guide.

Eric Palomaa is the director of the Hess Center for New Frontiers at CSIS, where he leads strategy and foresight workshops. He has also worked as a senior adviser for CSIS Executive Education and held roles at Brookings and Argonne National Laboratory. He holds a master’s in Middle Eastern studies from the University of Chicago.

HOGAN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Roy J. Panzarella served as Chief Executive — UAE for Lockheed Martin, overseeing business development in the region. Before joining the company, he served 27 years as a U.S. Army Aviator and Foreign Area Officer, including as Chief of the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, managing key defense programs.

Matthew Pinsker holds the Brian Pohanka Chair of Civil War History at Dickinson College and directs the House Divided Project, a digital resource initiative on the Civil War era. He is a Visiting Research Professor at the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Studies Institute and a Bernard L. Schwartz Fellow at the New America Foundation.

Dr. Plutko has over 35 years of leadership and teaching experience, including serving as Superintendent of the Placentia Yorba Linda and Huntington Beach Union High School Districts. He holds degrees in educational leadership and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Azusa Pacific University, where he currently serves on the doctoral faculty.
